How Fun *IS* a Fun Run?

Have you ever wondered what it might be like to have a Fun Run and a Block Party both in the same day? Look no further, let us tell you about it!

This past weekend, we pulled off our very first Fun Run and Block Party and we had SO much fun!

We are nearing the anniversary of our 45th year (can you believe it!), so to celebrate that, our theme was Running it Back to 1981, our founding year. We took it way back…to the time that MTV was first launched (RIP music videos), Prince Charles married Diana, Donkey Kong was released and new homes cost ~$78,000 to buy (cries in millennial), AND IMB debut their brand new personal computer. Our little school has come a long way, as you read all this on your handheld devices.

The kids had so much fun running in all kinds of events and we even got some parents involved doing a silly, anything but running, event. The smiles on everyone’s faces let us know that we were on the right track.

After the running, we kicked off our block party with some great food, and some great music provided by our very own parent band, Toy Division. They rocked out to some 80’s classics and everyone loved it.

Thank you to all our families who came to hang out with us as well as our donors and sponsors who made this day possible. Through tickets, donors, and sponsors we were able to raise $2960.00. Portions of that will be going into our scholarship fund so more families in our community have access to childcare.
