Top 5 Reasons Families Choose Montessori:

  • A young child sitting on a blue and white striped rug indoors, looking at a picture book with illustrations of a person.

    Child-Centered Learning

Each child follows their own pace, guided by curiosity and readiness.

  • Colorful pencils in various colored holders arranged on a white shelf.

    Hands-On Discovery

Specially designed materials make learning concrete, engaging, and joyful.

  • A young girl with blonde curly hair wearing a light purple shirt with yellow and green patterns, holding a white spray bottle with a green nozzle, working on a small paper pot filled with soil at a wooden surface. There is a larger container of soil nearby.

    Independence & Confidence

Children gain practical life skills that build responsibility and self-esteem.

  • A child sitting on a blue carpet playing with a wooden activity board that has various moving and spinning parts, including a metal rolling mechanism, a purple strap, and a blue string.

    Focus & Concentration

Purposeful activities help children develop attention and perseverance.

  • A group of young children gathered around a table outdoors, with a woman standing beside them, engaging with the children. The children are sitting on a wooden bench, some with backpacks, and appear to be participating in an activity or discussion. The setting is outside a building with large windows, and the scene is illuminated by natural daylight.

    Community & Care

Multi-age classrooms foster empathy, leadership, and collaboration.

Montessori empowers children to grow into confident, capable learners—ready for school and for life.

Why Choose Montessori Learning Community?

At Montessori Learning Community of Asheville, we bring together decades of combined teaching experience and deep knowledge of the Montessori philosophy. Our educators are passionate about each child’s success, meeting them exactly where they are and helping them thrive at their own pace.

Our classrooms are carefully prepared to promote independence, curiosity, and confidence. Designed with intention, they reflect beauty, peace, and a strong connection to nature—creating an environment where children feel safe, respected, and inspired to learn.

At MLC, education is more than academics; it’s about nurturing the whole child and empowering them to grow into capable, compassionate individuals.

Our philosophy embraces a respect and love of nature, the world around us, ourselves, and others.

Our Mission

We at MLC accept all creeds, religions, countries of origin, abilities, ages, and beliefs. We strive to provide safe, positive, and developmentally appropriate educational experiences that reinforce a child’s natural curiosity, determination, enthusiasm, and sense of self in community and the world at large. The Montessori Method helps the child to interact with the self correcting prepared environment and calls to the natural sensitive periods of development. We aim to provide as many new experiences and opportunities as possible to empower the child and prepare them for their futures.

It is our vision to provide school for all regardless of economic background or differing learning needs. MLC accepts NC Subsidies and the NC Opportunity Scholarship, and provides in-house financial aid to those who qualify. Guides at MLC create prepared environments tailored to each individual child’s needs and interests to bolster their learning.
