Asheville’s
First Montessori School

Guiding Children for Over 45 years

Imagine a school where your child’s curiosity leads the way.

Every parent wants their child to be confident, capable, and excited to learn. At Montessori Learning Community (MLC), we make that vision a reality by providing an environment that adapts to your child’s unique needs and interests.

Rooted in Montessori philosophy, we nurture curiosity, confidence, and a strong sense of self—helping each child grow into their fullest potential. We strive to help children become flexible, open-minded and prepared for the future that lies ahead of them. Our philosophy embraces a respect and love of nature and the world around us, as well as a respect of self and others.

45 Years of Service

MLC is a non-profit school that has been shaping students since 1981. We are committed to Montessori principals and provide a nurturing environment, quality materials for our children to work and play with, and outdoor spaces designed to encourage creativity and exploration. We are privileged to teach over 100 children across two locations.

Committed Team

Our staff are committed educators that understand the life of a child as an infinite and unique door into their soul, gifts and expressions. Many of our highly qualified teachers have been with us for years—as valued community members, they receive health and wellness benefits as well as retirement plans. We also support teacher training and continuing education.

Two Campuses

Both of our East and West campuses are located in beautifully wooded areas of Asheville. Our locations also share spaces with multiple community organizations who add immeasurable joy to our students’ lives when they see the familiar faces of their neighbors in their daily routines.
