Community Updates

MLC Merch is in! We have the offerings posted on a zeffy site so that you can easily order. There will be more additions soon.If you want to be entered into a drawing for 75% off an item just leave us a google review and then reach out to Sarah Harris so we can get you added to the drawing! We have welcomed two new staff members to the team - Roger joined the Honeybees class at East and Lulu (Maria) joined the todddlers at West. Lulu went through a great substitute training program with Buncombe County Partnership and helped us out for several weeks before being hired on. Roger has a diverse background of teen wilderness therapy in addition to service work and Tea expertise. They’ve both been wonderful additions and will be with us for summer camp as well :)

MLC Special Events

Join us Friday April 3 for a Spring Celebration at our East campus! This is a great opportunity for those folks from West that will be joining us in the 26/27 school year to get to see the classrooms and meet some of the teachers. We will also have lots of fun playground activities and the Frios Gourmet Popscicle truck with popscicles for purchase - if we reach $250 in sales they will give back 10% to our school.

Don’t miss out on our first annual MLC Fun Run on Saturday April 18 ! You can buy entry/race tickets here. This is shaping up to be a really fun day & we hope to see you there!

Teacher Spotlight

Talia is our Lead Guide of the Fireflies class at East. Talia started with MLC in 2021 and has been an anchor in our toddler program. They are chipping away at their Infant Toddler Montessori Credential through CGMS and have used their training to create such a beautiful space for the students. They have such a gift in their calm and loving energy, we could not be more grateful to have them with us at MLC.

Maggie is one of our Primary Assistant Guides in the Monarchs classroom at East. Maggie joined MLC as a parent in 2022 and eventually made her way here as staff in 2023. She previously worked with high school age students but after having her own sons she seamlessly made the switch to a younger demographic. She got her Montessori Primary Assistant credential from CGMS and uses her many skills to infuse fun and academics in the classroom. You’ll often hear her doing a funny impression or giving students a deep dive on a random topic. Thanks for everything you do Maggie!
