MLC Special Events:

The first annual MLC Fun Run is happening Saturday April 18 ! The running event will be from 8:30-11 then we will celebrate together with a block party from 11-1. There will be different runs offered for funof all ages, and we are hoping that folks add to the experience by dressing up in your best 80's inspired outfit. This is our last big fundraiser for the year so we are hoping folks are able to join in and enjoy the day! Sponsors are still needed to help us with costs so reach out to Sarah, outreach@mlcasheville.org if you’d like to donate (tax deductable).

We are planning a visit date for MLC West families to go see the East campus before the end of the year - stay tuned.

Community Updates

The NC Opportunity Scholarship for 26/27 is closing March 2nd so don’t forget to apply if you have a child attending MLC (or any other private Kindergarten) next year. You can be awarded anywhere from $3,000 - $7,000 for the year. Read more here.

We are working on the calendar for 26/27 and looking for some feedback about Spring Break week. As you have probably heard, BCS and ACS have differing Spring Break weeks this year and it has caused quite a bit of confusion. We want to offer parents the week that makes the most sense so please fill out this quick survey to let us know which week we should pick!

Our fancy new website is LIVE, hooray! Please check it out and share with your friends :)

Teacher Spotlight

Kelly is our Lead Guide of the Red Pandas class at West. Kelly has been with MLC for 10 years! She received her Montessori Credential from NAMC and has worked with all age groups from toddlers to primary. She is our routine queen and starts her day with the same snack every morning (apple a day!). She is someone who truly makes the teamwork dreamwork and comes up with positive solutions for any challenge. Thank you for all your dedication and hard work Mrs Kelly!

Kate is one of the Lead Guides in the BBOP “experiential learning” group at West. Kate brings her childlike sense of wonder and curiosity to the classroom each day. She leads the students on nature walks and introduces them to the joy of bugs, birds, snakes, construction vehicles, cool sticks, and friendly neighbors. She is the first one to go say hello and introduce herself to any new face on our campus. She incorporates art and woodworking into the classroom and is our campus-wide handy-person. She’s our energizer bunny and jack of all trades. Our school and our students are lucky to have you Mrs. Kate!
