Aftercare at MLC
Welcome to The Birdhouse
This year, we’re giving aftercare at MLC a little something extra! The Birdhouse is our reimagined after-school program—a place for children to unwind after their school day while still having opportunities to create, explore, move, and try something new.
Each afternoon will have its own rhythm, with plenty of time for the open-ended play children need at the end of a busy day, alongside optional experiences like yoga, art, cooking, science, gardening, practical life, nature exploration, and hands-on workshops. Each month will bring a new theme and a fresh collection of activities designed for both our Toddler and Primary children.
Most importantly, The Birdhouse is still aftercare. It isn’t another classroom or another curriculum to complete. It’s a place to gather with friends, follow interests, make a mess, move our bodies, enjoy our beautiful campus, and simply have fun.
We are so excited to bring The Birdhouse to MLC this year and create an after-school space where our little birds can play, create, explore, and belong.
Help Stock The Birdhouse!
Throughout the year, our little makers can put everyday materials to surprisingly good use. We may occasionally ask families to save clean cardboard boxes, paper tubes, jars, ribbon, fabric scraps, magazines, pinecones and other materials for upcoming Birdhouse projects.
